Is there something good in your food other then making you not hungry? Yes there is! Your food is consisting of several awesome parts. Try looking at your food differently now. Try looking at it as a challenge and a conquest for better health and life. We laugh at vegetarians, but why? They are very healthy and happy. Vegetarians are getting more of the daily recommend dose of vegetables and fruits then the meat eating population. They are also getting more of the phytochemicals that help fight off the viruses that are in society today.</p>

<p>Fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, legumes are all words you may think to yourself what is that? Well they are the support system of your body. Fruits and vegetables have lots of phytochemicals in them and you can get about 100 different phytochemicals per serving of fruits and vegetables.  What are phytochemicals? Well the most commonly known phytochemical is the antioxidant. Antioxidants help to protect our cells from toxic substances and free radicals. You want to keep your cells strong for the long haul of life ahead.</p>
<p>Cholesterol. Yes we all have it and no we don’t want to have to worry about it. Well unfortunately we all must in this day and age worry about our cholesterol. A good way to lower your cholesterol is with oats. Just by eating three grams of soluble fiber a day, the same amount found in a large bowl of one hundred percent oat bran or three packages of instant oatmeal, can lower your LDL cholesterol by at least five point six percent in six weeks. That is an awesome decrease in LDL cholesterol and can save your life.</p>
<p>Still worried about your cholesterol and hate the thought of oatmeal three times a day? Try cooking with olive oil. If you are unhappy with the flavor of olive oil the try canola oil. Both are a great source of monounsaturated fat; A great reducer of cholesterol. Other sources of monounsaturated oils are Peanut oil, Walnut oil, Sesame Oil, and Soybean oil. What ever you do though do not, I repeat, do not go overboard with any oil. They all have fourteen grams of saturated fat and one hundred twenty calories per tablespoon. Lets face it we are an obese society; we need all the help we can get to not add extra fat to our bodies.</p>
<p>Did you know the benefits of Nuts? They are surprisingly good for your heart. Macadamia nuts are the best for you as far as monounsaturated fats go. Walnuts are the lowest on the scale for monounsaturated fats. Apparently replacing saturated fat with polyunsaturated fats found in nuts reduces your risk of heart disease.</p>
<p>Omega three fatty acids found in fish oils are superb at lowering blood fats such as triglycerides. Omega three fatty acids also help reduce blood pressure and may ease the symptoms of arthritis. You should eat fresh fish two to three times a week, however do not take fish oil supplements with out talking to your doctor first.</p>
<p>Vitamin E, is the great protector. Vitamin E helps to fight cancer, heart disease, and cataracts. Now that is one tough antioxidant! Spinach! I know why Popeye ate his spinach, because it is a powerhouse in the antioxidant family. Not to mention it has every nutrient out there. It is a great source of folic acid, which can reduce the risk of neural tube birth defects. It also protects against cervical displaysia which is a condition that precedes cervical cancer. Women! You must eat your spinach. Women who eat spinach daily are forty three percent less likely to suffer from a stroke, then those women who only ate spinach once a month or less. Now I don’t care those numbers are hard to beat. Eat your spinach ladies and live long happy lives. Women you also need to eat your squashes, which are high in beta carotene.  Those of us who eat fruits and vegetables high in carotene reduce our risk of cataracts by thirty nine percent.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Theodor Seuss Geisel ( March 2, 1904 – September 24, 1991) was an American writer and cartoonist most widely known for his children&#8217;s books written under the pen name Dr. Seuss. He published over 60 children&#8217;s books, which were often characterized by imaginative characters, rhyme, and frequent use of trisyllabic meter. His most celebrated books include the bestselling Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Numerous adaptations of his work have been created, including eleven television specials, three feature films, and a Broadway musical.</p>
<p>Geisel also worked as an illustrator for advertising campaigns, most notably for Flit and Standard Oil, and as a political cartoonist for PM, a New York City newspaper. During World War II, he worked in an animation department of the U.S Army, where he wrote Design for Death, a film that later won the 1947 Academy Award for Documentary Feature.</p>

<p>Read Across America is an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association. One part of the project is National Read Across America Day, an observance in the United States held on March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss.</p>
<p>Over the course of his long career, Geisel wrote over 60 books. Though most were published under his well-known pseudonym, Dr. Seuss, he also authored over a dozen books as Theo. LeSieg and one as Rosetta Stone. As one of the most popular children&#8217;s authors of all time, Geisel&#8217;s books have topped many bestseller lists, sold over 222 million copies, and been translated into more than 15 languages.  In 2000, Publishers Weekly compiled a list of the best-selling children&#8217;s books of all time; of the top 100 hardcover books, 16 were written by Geisel, including Green Eggs and Ham, at number 4, The Cat in the Hat, at number 9, and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, at number 13. In the years after his death in 1991, several additional books have been published based on his sketches and notes; these include Hooray for Diffendoofer Day! and Daisy-Head Mayzie. Though they were all published under the name Dr. Seuss, only My Many Colored Days, originally written in 1973, was entirely by Geisel.</p>
<p>At various times Geisel also wrote books for adults that used the same style of verse and pictures: The Seven Lady Godivas which included nude depictions; Oh, The Places You&#8217;ll Go! which has become a popular gift for graduating students; and You&#8217;re Only Old Once! which chronicles an old man&#8217;s journey through a clinic, a satire of the inefficiency of clinics.</p>

Dey is known for her roles as eldest daughter Laurie Partridge on the 1970s sitcom The Partridge Family, and as Grace Van Owen, a California assistant district attorney and judge on the dramatic series L.A. Law, a role she played from 1986 to 1992.</p>
<p>Dey was born Susan Hallock Smith in Pekin, Illinois, the daughter of Gail (née Dey) and Robert Smith, a newspaper editor.[1] She adopted her mother&#8217;s maiden name as her professional name. She graduated from Fox Lane High School in Bedford, New York.</p>

<p>Dey was a model before starring as Laurie Partridge in the television series The Partridge Family from 1970–1974. She was 17 years old when she won the part and had no previous acting experience. Dey co-starred with Albert Finney in a 1981 science-fiction film, Looker, written and directed by Michael Crichton. She had a leading role in 1986&#8217;s Echo Park as a struggling waitress/actress who takes a job as a stripper who delivers singing telegrams.</p>
<p>She was critically hailed for her starring role in the TV series L.A. Law as Grace Van Owen. She earned a Golden Globe award as &#8220;Actress In A Leading Role – Drama Series&#8221; for this role in 1987. She was nominated four more times the following four years. She was also nominated for the Emmy Award for &#8220;Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series&#8221; for this role in 1987, 1988, and 1989.</p>
<p>Dey hosted a 1992 episode of Saturday Night Live. Later that year, she co-starred in the CBS sitcom Love &amp; War with Jay Thomas. Although the show ran until 1995, Dey lasted only one season, getting replaced in 1993 by Annie Potts (who went on to earn an Emmy nomination for her performance).</p>

Most restaurants have low fat options and are quickly adding low carb menus.  Before going out, call around and find a restaurant with a menu that will be a good match for your diet. Once at the restaurant, there are ways to enjoy a guilt free meal. The secret to success is in the initial ordering—you don’t want to find yourself staring at a plate of bad choices, and regretting it only after the plate is empty.</p>
<p>Some experts suggest that once served, you should ask for a take-out container and put half of it away for the next day’s lunch or dinner.  This works great if you are incredibly self-controlled.  However, if the knowledge that there is more food under the lid of that Styrofoam container is too much—change the way you order.  Side dishes, children’s plates, and appetizers are all great alternatives.  Request that extras like gravy, butter, sauces, salad dressings, and sour cream be served on the side. Slightly dipping a fork in a condiment before you stick it into your food is a great way to limit the extra calories while adding flavor to your food.</p>

<p>Don’t be afraid to substitute. Substitute a salad for fries, a green vegetable for potatoes, or low fat versions for their fat laden counterparts.  If there are no substitutions available, ask to have the item left off the plate.  Such a request may result in your waiter explaining that you have to pay for it anyway.  Simply let him know that you don’t mind—or you’ll end up paying with your waistline.  Sometimes another person at the table will want the item you want left in the kitchen.  If this is the case, ask the waiter to serve the item on a separate plate.</p>
<p>Fast food restaurants offer a challenge to the average weight loss plan.  However, if you must go to one, there are usually a few healthy choices you can make.  Order a salad, grilled chicken, or a roast beef sandwich.  If you are on a low carb diet, request a plate and a fork with your sandwiches so that you can eat it without the bun.  In casual and fine dining scenarios, simply choose items according to the way they are cooked, avoiding anything that is battered and fried.  Instead, order items that are steamed, broiled, baked, roasted, or poached.  Stay away from food that is creamed, cheese sauce, or items marinated in oil. Especially destructive to your weight loss efforts are casseroles and pastry crusts.</p>
<p>As for drinks&#8211; water, diet sodas, and ice tea are all good choices.  A single glass of wine fits nicely into most diets, but only if you have the willpower to pass on a second glass when offered.  Desserts don’t have to be off limits, especially if everyone else at the table in partaking.  This will only cause you to dig into the ice cream in your freezer with wild abandon once you get home.  Choose a dessert that does not come with ice cream, whipped cream, or any kind of sauce.  But only order it if you have someone willing to share it with you.  Have the waiter bring it out already divided up.</p>
<p>There is no reason not to enjoy a guilt free dinner out.  There are many options available, you just have to make the right choices</p>
